What is the Canadian Progress Club Ignite?
The Canadian Progress Club Ignite is a dynamic group of women building friendships and joining forces to support women and children in our community! The Club was newly chartered in April 2012; we are the most recent addition to the Canadian Progress Club family. The Canadian Progress Club, an all Canadian service club, was founded in Toronto in 1922 and has 36 clubs across Canada. We are proud to be Canadian and proud to make a difference to those we serve. Progress members seek the advancement of the communities in which their individual clubs are located.
What is First Step Housing?
First Steps Housing Project Inc (First Steps) was developed in Saint John because of the high teen pregnancy rate and the lack of support facilities for young women and their babies. These mothers and their children are in jeopardy of poverty, illness and abuse. First Steps provides a supportive environment where young mothers can continue their education, further their personal development and gain the skills required to thrive as individuals and as parents.
